Behaviour Support for Parent and Carers (NVR)
NVR - Non-Violent-Resistance is an evidence based approach to behaviours support that is parent-led and child-focused. NVR can be used to support parents with practical tools that help create a calmer household and rebuild connection, confidence and a hopeful way forward.
We’ve created some free resources you can download and keep - Gentle guides for stormy moments in the home.

Does my child need a diagnosis?
No diagnosis is needed to access NVR support.
What if my child refuses?
NVR is a parent-led approach, this means children do not need to agree and should not be involved in the session.
Is NVR about me being stricter?
No, NVR helps to reduce escalations in the home and creates safer responses during difficult moments.
Will NVR work alongside neurodivergent children?
Yes NVR will absolutely work alongside neurodivergent children. We adapt tools to your child’s own needs.
How many sessions will I need?
Many families benefit from at least 6-12 sessions in total, attending sessions fortnightly. However support can be tailored around your family.
Do you work with all ages of children?
We can work with children and young people from 0-19 years
